Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2024

Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But we're not here to hide stuff in legal jargon. This doc explains what info we collect when you reach out or browse around, and honestly, it's pretty straightforward.

We're an architecture firm, not a data mining operation. When you contact us or request a consultation, we collect the basics:

  • Your name and how to reach you - email, phone number
  • Project details you share with us (location, scope, budget ranges)
  • Any site visit information if you've invited us to check out your property
  • Communication records - emails, notes from calls, that kind of thing

Our website might also pick up standard web stuff like IP addresses and browser info through cookies, mainly to keep the site running smoothly and see which pages folks are actually looking at.

Pretty simple, really. We use what you give us to:

  • Get back to you about your project inquiries
  • Put together proposals and design concepts
  • Keep you updated on your project's progress
  • Handle billing and contracts (the not-so-fun but necessary stuff)
  • Occasionally send updates about our work or sustainable design practices - only if you're cool with it
  • Improve our services based on what clients actually need

We're not selling your data to anyone or using it for anything weird. That's not how we operate.

Your information stays with us unless we've got a legit reason to share it:

  • Project Partners: Sometimes we bring in structural engineers, contractors, or other specialists. They'll only get what's relevant to making your project happen.
  • Legal Requirements: If the law says we gotta hand something over (court orders, regulatory stuff), we don't have much choice.
  • Service Providers: Our hosting company, email service - the tech that keeps things running. They're bound by their own privacy rules.

That's about it. We're definitely not selling your contact info to marketing companies or anything sketchy like that.

Yeah, we use cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These small files help our website remember you and work properly.

What they do:

  • Keep you logged in if you're accessing project portals
  • Remember your preferences
  • Help us understand which content resonates with visitors

Most browsers let you block cookies if you want, though it might make the site a bit clunky. Your call.

It's your information, and you've got rights. Here in Canada, we follow PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).

You can:

  • Ask to see what info we've got on you
  • Request corrections if something's wrong
  • Tell us to delete your data (within reason - we've gotta keep some stuff for legal/tax purposes)
  • Opt out of marketing emails anytime
  • Withdraw consent for stuff you previously agreed to

Just shoot us an email at info@tavronexquinthal.info and we'll sort it out.

We take security seriously. Your info is stored on secure servers with encryption, and access is limited to team members who actually need it for their work.

We use:

  • SSL encryption for data transmission
  • Secure, password-protected systems
  • Regular backups (stored securely, of course)
  • Limited access protocols - not everyone on the team can see everything

That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but if you're sending sensitive stuff over email, maybe encrypt it or give us a call instead.

We don't hoard data forever. How long we keep stuff depends on why we've got it:

  • Active Projects: Throughout the project and for several years after completion (architectural records have legal retention requirements)
  • Inquiries that didn't pan out: Usually a couple years, in case you circle back
  • Financial records: Seven years, because that's what tax law requires
  • Marketing contacts: Until you tell us to stop, or if you've gone silent for a really long time

After that, it gets securely deleted or anonymized.

Things change - laws get updated, we might add new services, who knows. If we make any significant changes to how we handle your privacy, we'll update this page and let you know.

We'll always post the date at the top so you can see when it was last revised. It's worth checking back occasionally if you're curious.

If something here doesn't make sense, or you've got concerns about how we're handling your info, just reach out. Seriously.

You can also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we've messed something up. We hope it doesn't come to that, but you've got that right.

Bottom line: We respect your privacy because we'd want ours respected too. We collect what we need to do good work for you, keep it secure, and don't do anything shady with it. Pretty simple.
